This project was realized during my time at Experientia Global. As we inch closer to phones with all-screen designs, physical buttons are on the chopping block. But how do you interact with a smartphone that has no buttons? Samsung asked Experientia to develop two navigation frameworks for a concept device.

What You Need To Know:

The project involved developing new UX navigation frameworks for buttonless smartphones, focusing on creating intuitive and seamless interactions for users.

What the Company Needed:

Samsung needed a tailored UX framework to guide the development of their buttonless mobile solutions, ensuring user-friendly interactions without physical buttons.

Highlights:

  • A New Language: Developed through extensive research, benchmarking, and a workshop with industry experts, a new interaction language for buttonless devices was created.
  • The Path to Keyless Strategy: Analyzed the dynamic relationship between the user and the device, considering the device’s position and user expectations.
  • UX, UI, and Usability Testing: Created a functional prototype and conducted usability tests with seven participants to validate the UX framework.
